Overhead line construction - lines and masts at the highest level

Masts and lines - overhead line construction is the speciality of Kummler+Matter EVT. From planning and engineering to installation, commissioning and maintenance, Kummler+Matter EVT offers a complete range of services at all voltage levels.

The overhead line construction experts work at lofty heights: Well-rehearsed teams work in hard-to-reach mountain areas to keep the energy flowing. Because overhead lines are the most efficient way to transport high-voltage electricity over long distances. The specialists at Kummler+Matter EVT are always up to date with the latest knowledge, both in technical terms and with regard to the risks and dangers of their work. They receive regular training for this purpose. This is because overhead line construction is classified as high-risk work, which is why only specially trained personnel may be used. As demanding as your projects in the areas of production, transmission and distribution grids may be, the solutions and services provided by Kummler+Matter EVT are as individual and customised as required.

Planning

Kummler+Matter EVT can plan the entire project, starting with construction, piping/cabling and foundation planning.

Engineering

During this step, Kummler+Matter EVT obtains the permits, submits the construction documents and carries out negotiations with the owners. Safety concepts are developed and route plans are prepared. The materials are also chosen. The choice as to whether wooden, concrete, steel tube or lattice masts are installed depends on the voltage being transported. Depending on the type of mast, a different assembly technique is required.

Execution

Steel structures, brackets, sleeves and splices are required for the installation of masts and cables. The lines are laid out and the cables pulled through. If the work relates to a renovation, the old masts obviously have to be removed first of all. During the execution phase, getting the work done quickly and precisely is a top priority. This is why specially trained employees are needed.

Commissioning

During this step, the system and cable route are thoroughly tested and put into operation.

Maintenance

Finally, the mast and rope supports are regularly checked and the logistics of the parts for preventive and corrective maintenance are coordinated.

Technical highlights

  • Assembly of concrete, steel tube and girder masts
  • Pulling in of conductor and earth ropes
  • Extensive machinery and tool park (high-performance pulling and braking equipment, hydraulic assembly platforms, splicing and measuring equipment)
  • Access to external helicopter companies, wealth of experience in cooperation for and placement of masts with helicopters
  • Assembly personnel trained for many years

Your advantages

  • Smooth overall planning and implementation of projects in overhead line construction - from simple projects to comprehensive, complex undertakings.

  • Experts from all areas work hand-in-hand at Kummler+Matter EVT: electrical engineers, structural engineers, civil engineers and experienced network electricians. Laborious coordination activities can therefore be dispensed with - Kummler+Matter EVT takes care of everything for you.
