Temporary traffic controls for the autonomous shuttles of the University of Lausanne - EPFL

For the driverless shuttle system, an intelligent trackside system for traffic control at the intersections with private traffic was needed. Kummler+Matter EVT, in cooperation with EPFL, has developed a communication protocol that receives priority circuit switching from the BestMile software (control software for the shuttles) in real time via the mobile telephone network to allow the driverless shuttles to cross intersections with private vehicles.
